User refillable: Firecharger racecar fire systems are user refillable, even at the track, with our simple to use refill and recharge kits.

This makes Firecharger the ideal vehicle safety equipment . Other systems must be returned to their manufacturers for refill. This involves the freight both ways, the refill charge, days or weeks of waiting and, with gases like Halon, FM and FE---a hefty HAZMAT fee.

The AFFF recharge kit will allow you to recharge your system right at the track and be back in service in 20 minutes. The kit comes with a bottle of AFFF and a new CO2 cartridge. Just replace the fracture seal in the manifold, fill with water and concentrate, screw on a new CO2 cartridge and you're ready to go.

SFI-rated systems must be shipped back to VRO for recharging to maintain SFI rating.

FireCharger uses AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) technology with a patented extinguishment system that not only suppresses the fire but also helps prevent flashback.

FireCharger PUTS THE FIRE OUT AND KEEPS THE FIRE OUT! FireCharger’s system uses AFFF with Carbon Dioxide (CO²) are both approved extinguishing agents as well as environmentally friendly, unlike Halon 1211 and Halon 1301 (which are widely used in racing in the U.S. In fact, all Halon agents have been outlawed in Europe and are no longer produced anywhere in the world).

FireCharger’s system uses AFFF and CO² in combination to produce an expanded foam discharge. The Firecharger system cylinder is TOTALLY filled with a 6% AFFF / 94% water mixture. This concentration allows the FireCharger system to be used with all racing fuels including those with alcohol additives.

FireCharger’s #1 goal is racing safety.

The 2.3L system comes complete with cylinder and actuator, CO2 cartridge, bottle bracket, cable, tubing and 2 nozzles. (The system can support up to 3 high pressure nozzles.) Total filled weight is approximately 7.4 pounds. Measures 13.25" long x 4.25" diameter (overall height is 5.5"). The 2.3L system carries a 5-BC rating.

Foam is the extinguishant of choice for many outdoor applications such as airports and rocket launch platforms where wind and air flow can dissipate gases such as Halon. Foam clings to surfaces and prevents fires from returning by smothering them in CO2 filled bubbles. The ESS AFFF foam system does not disburse or lose its effectiveness in a moving vehicle. ESS AFFF will form a film on any flammable liquid, preventing the release of the vapors that can cause a fire or explosion. Being water based, it will also act as a cooling agent, preventing ignition sources (hot metals, exhaust, over-heated brakes, etc.) from reacting with any volatile vapors.

The 2.3 liter system is approved by SCCA, NASA, PCA, BMW Club, and others for competition and track days. This is a 3 nozzle system that includes a bulkhead Tee fitting for two nozzle coverage of the engine compartment. all fittings, stainless steel mounting brackets, pull cable activation, a re-designed pull cable mounting bracket for easy installation, 10 ft. aluminum tubing, and detailed instructions.

This system is a two zone system designed to provide protection to two areas of the car in the event of a fire (typically the driver and the engine).

This system is a non-SFI owner rechargeable system. The SFI 17.1 compliant system requires that the systems be shipped full, sealed, and certified for 2 years of service. A re-certification program for both 17.1 and non-17.1 systems is available through VRO.

Discharged foam cleans up with water. This non-SFI system can be recharged at the track with a recharge kit and fresh water. The SFI 17.1 compliant version of the 5.0 liter system requires that the system be shipped back to VRO for recertification.

The 5 liter system is approved for use in SCCA, PRO-SCCA, Trans Am, World Speed Challenge, American LeMans, NASA, and others. This is a 4 nozzle, 3 zone system utilizing the newest T-style nozzle, bulkhead fitting, 20 ft of aluminum tubing as well as the standard features found on the 2.3 liter system. The aluminum cylinder and hardware keep weight to a minimum. The stainless steel t-bolt mounting brackets allow easy access for tech inspection and storage during the off season.
