Preparation for Parade!!

Going to Parade? Entered in the Concours? Or just hanging out? You should consider taking this refresher course in Concours Preparation.
Since Parade is in our backyard this year we want to give all of our members an additional edge in putting our best foot forward. Coucours College has been in existence for 4 years and several hundred people have gone through the course with success. You owe it to your car to attend. The class is being sponsored by Foreign Affairs Motorsports and will be held on June 29th 2019 at their location, 1935 NW 40th Court Pompano Beach, FL. Class starts at 9:00 AM with a break for a working lunch at 12:00PM, and the event ending at 2:30 PM. Coffee and donuts will be served in the morning.
The class is free, and will cover how best to prepare your cars for Parade. (Cleaning, detailing, interior and exterior, depending on your level of participation.) You will get tips on how to best present your car for the judges, along with tips for the show field. The class will be held in a classroom environment and will go on rain or shine.

Suncoast Florida Region PCA G-Body Porsches Social at Grillsmith, Tuesday July 16, Carrollwood
Attention All G Body Porsche Owners (1974-1989)!!!
Do you currently own or have you ever owned a Porsche 911 from 1974 thru 1989? These cars are sometimes called Impact Bumper or G Body 911’s.  It includes Coupes, Convertibles, Turbos and Factory Wide Body cars of the era.  If so, then here’s a little something that may interest you.  Recently, there has been some interest being generated around the idea of having a social gathering where interested parties can get together and share information, stories, contacts and advice about this era of vehicles.  Maybe you’ve wondered what a certain exhaust would sound like on your car, or how someone handled the rust in the lower corners of the windshield, etc… Its an opportunity to compare notes and enjoy a nice evening with friends that share the love of these wonderful cars.  So, if this sounds like you, then bring your car and lets have some fun! The restaurant has great reviews and is "A modern take on classic American comfort fare, Grillsmith dishes out comfort food and drinks with a fiery passion for flavors crafted by fire."
Everglades Region PCA Venice Festival Grounds Autocross
After a successful Test and tune in May at our new site, we will try again in July.  The course will be an L shape using the concrete taxiway and the runway.  We will be paddocking on the new asphalt section of taxiway (opposite of where we were in May for those of you who were there).  We have solved the bathroom issues and facilities will be delivered on time.  The gate will be open from 7:45 am until 8:15 am.  The gate will be closed at 8:15.  If you arrive late you will not be able to enter.  Check-in and tech will be until 8:30 and the driver's meeting will be at approximately 8:45.  We will plan to be finished by Noon or 1:00pm to avoid as much heat and rain as mother nature permits.  We will not be providing lunch at this event, so bring food if you are so inclined.  Water will be available.  Registration is limited to the first 30 registered and paid drivers.  Online registration and payment ONLY.

PLEASE NOTE: There are fairly strict gate procedures at this location.  We must submit our registration list the Friday before the event to the airport. NO late entries can be taken.  Also the gate must be locked after entry therefore there will be NO admittance after 8:15am.

Your registration includes a Friday night pizza social at the track, event T-shirt and if we have full attendance, a BBQ dinner at the track Saturday night.

A final event update email will be sent to all confirmed drivers approximately a week before the event and include information on if a BBQ dinner will be included or not.

Gold Coast Region PCA North Carolina mountains
Interested in an out-of-state drive to the North Carolina mountains this Fall?
Gold Coast Region has an energetic member that has done some research on just that idea and we would like to know how many members may be interested.  The tentative dates would be Thursday October 24 thru Sunday October 27, hotel rates at the beautiful Fontana Village Resort are $107-117 and the catering prices for our group are very reasonable.  There are many things to do, as well as see the changing leaves and drive thru the mountains. The hotel would need to know BY JUNE 1 How many rooms to reserve.  If you are interested in possibly taking this tour with the Porsche Club, please sign up here and we will keep you posted on those that may be interested as well.
