"The April Board Meeting for Sonnenschein Region of the PCA will be held on April 27, 2024 at 1 PM at the Steelwood Resort in Loxley, Alabama.  Prior to the Board Meeting we'll be dining in the Steelwood clubhouse over looking the lakefront and golf course.  If the weather is conducive we'll be eating in the outdoor covered dining area.  We will have a group run from the Pensacola area and for the rest of our members, the resort is easy to find.  Steelwood is a gated community, simply tell the guard at the gate you're with Porsche Group at the Club house and they will wave you through.  We'd ask that you sign up for the event on Club Registration and indicate which menu item you'd prefer at that time to help expedite the lunch process.  Members and guests will pay for lunch at the Resort.  We look forward to seeing as many members as we can at this unique setting, and as usual all members and guests are welcome to participate in the Board Meeting.  We welcome your ideas! Welcome to the 2024 edition! Spectators are welcome! The AMCM course is a mix of roads a drag strip and skid pad, not the normal sea of cones found in a parking lot venue. This makes it new driver friendly and we have loaner helmets and instructors for first time autocrossers. For the experienced autocrosser, runs are long at 60 secs and we normally have 5 runs. 

Our intent is to provide a safe and fun event by making all of the registration, tech, and payment processes online and complete prior to the date of the event.  There will be waivers on site for spectators but no money accepted the day of the event. Spectators are free.

Friends and Family Drivers
This is primarily a PCA members and family only event for Porsche Cars only.  There is the ability for a member to sponsor a family or friend driver who can share their Porsche or bring their own car. The PCA member should email the Autocross coChairs to sponsor a non PCA driver. Ken@gloveroil.com and Devito997@gmail.com

Event size is limited to 48 entries due to time constraints and our ability to deliver a quality event.  So register early! Any questions should sent to an Autocross team member or the event registrar.

Announcing rescheduling of an exclusive event for our Gulfstream members that was originally scheduled for January. We have been able to gain admission to Gunnar Racing, the largest Porsche racing and restoration facility outside of Porsche AG. This is an opportunity to see many rare and historic Porsche race cars. Please signup soon, only 50 members will be able to see the collection and enjoy the stories about the cars as told by Kevin Jeanette, proprietor and very knowledgable racing historian. Bagels and coffee will be served. There will be fare for those members observing Passover. Pre-registration Required.

We’ll gather in Cheers Sunroom for socializing and fun.  Food and drinks to be ordered from their menu which you can view ahead of time at Menu | Cheers at Stonecrest.

The Cheers restaurant is located inside the community of Stonecrest just north of The Villages and south of Hwy 42 on 441.  Upon entering the main gate, tell the guard you are going to the Cheers restaurant, and they will allow you access (after making a copy of your drivers license).  They can also provide directions, if needed.  See map attached.

This event is limited to 40 people so please register early as the list fills to capacity quickly and then you will be placed on a “Waitlist.”

The Space Coast Boxster Bunch is at it again.

**Read/Open Entire Description** PCA and BMWCCA Club Members (driving BMW) only are invited to register on 4/8-4/27. Special $20 fee for all Ladies to celebrate Mother's Day a Sunday early on Cinco de Mayo! Do not register if you are not a member as you will be charged the credit card fee to cancel your payment. Event will be capped at approx 40 drivers and up to 10 registered guest. Registration will close on 4/27 and cancellations must be submitted prior to that date for refund (less credit card processing fee). NO on-site registrations will be allowed.

Pre-payment (current/active PCA MEMBERSHIP # MUST be listed in your Clubreg Profile to qualify for the Member rate of $45), and the PCA Event Liability Waiver is required to be e-signed before you will be confirmed on the Roster. Your registration will remain as "Pending" until completed and you have received a confirmation email and see your name on the Roster.

ALL non-driver GUEST attendees must register and e-sign the liability waiver as a "Crew/Guest" on Clubregistration.net. No on-site registrations as this is a private event. Please assist your guest in setting up an account with Clubregistration.net. $5 is requested if your guest will join us for lunch.

PCA requires eSignatures for all events. Electronically sign the Event Liability Waiver prior to the event. 

Snell 2010 helmet or newer required. Limited loaner helmets available.

Please arrive at the gate between 8am and 8:30am. Tech inspection 8:15am – 8:45am. Guided course walk at 9am followed by drivers’ meeting at 9:30am. Group A ready to Grid by 9:45am. Lunch and cold drinks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own cooler. We always target 4 morning runs and 4 afternoon runs depending on weather and other factor. Please make plans to stay the entire day so we have enough workers for the final B run group. We usually wrap up around 3:30pm.

All Drivers must be 18 years of age with valid Driver's License.  Registered PCA "Juniors Program" members may drive at 16 years of age with valid Driver's License.  Parent/Guardian must attend and sign Minor Participation Waiver.

We will gather at 9:30 am at Drivers Choice Motors, 710 S Milwee St, Longwood, FL on Sunday, May 5th to celebrate Cinco De Mayo with a drive to Port Canaveral Restaurant Row for a late lunch together. There are numerous restaurants on the waterfront that you may choose for lunch.

Let's all dress up for this Mexican Holiday. Wear your best Mexican tunic and hat. This is one of our favorite drives taking us through some remote Central Florida areas on the east coast. 

After a brief drivers meeting, we will leave for our drive in groups of 10 cars or less. Please be prompt.

If you were not able to purchase a ticket for the Miami Formula-1 race this year, we have the next best thing . Rev up your engines and enjoy the GCR F1 Viewing Party
Date/Time: Sunday afternoon May 5th
Place: Hagerty Garage & Social 777 S. Congress Ave Delray Beach, Fl. 
Plan to arrive around 12:30-12:45 pm to join the other race fanatics. The race starts at 3:00 and should conclude by 5:00 pm. View the race on one of 10+ big screen TV's. Also, between 1:45-2:45, we are planning a pop-up car show (People's Choice judging) in the Hagerty parking lot. When you get your wrist band you will also get a people's choice ballot.

Anticipate refreshments (beer, wine & soda plus finger foods/snacks) all afternoon, as well as great camaraderie with fellow Porsche enthusiasts.

AUTOCROSS #5 will be held at the St Lucie Fairgrounds on May 11 from 9:00 am until about 4:00 pm.  There will be NO onsite registration and you must pay on club registration at the time you register. Registration is $40 for PCA members and $50 for non-PCA members before May 4. Late Registration on/after May 4 is $60 - so please sign up early. The tentative schedule is as follows:

Our 2024 Dinner on the Beach at Sharky's on the Pier in Venice (1600 Harbor Dr S, Venice, FL 34285) is scheduled for May 15, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  As in past years, we have again reserved their tent located at the south end of the restaurant directly on the beach.  Parking is also plentiful; park at the far south end of the lot. 

If this is your first time at Sharky's, just follow signs to the hostess desk and tell them that you are with Suncoast PCA and you're looking for the tent.  Alternatively, take the little boardwalk from the south parking area directly to the beach and look to your right for all your Porsche Peeps.  At the end of the little boardwalk, make a right 180 degree turn and enter the tent.

Uniform of the day is Florida/beach casual, but if you prefer regular casual, that's OK too.  See you on the Beach.

We'll sign the appropriate liability waivers, have some coffee and donuts, and enjoy each other's company. 
At 10:00 am, we'll caravan in groups of 5 cars to enjoy the drive and arrive for lunch at the Hurricane Dockside Grill, 3351 Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778.  Hurricane Dockside is located on the "Dead River" (a canal like waterway between Lake Harris and Lake Eustis).  Boaters can dock at the Restaurant and enjoy lunch/dinner.

After lunch, take advantage of visiting lovely Mt. Dora, a quaint city on Lake Dora noted for good shopping; art shops, clothing shops, and good restaurants.  Water tours of the Dora Canal are available should you plan ahead by visiting the Mt. Dora website. (The Dora Canal is a little preservation of "old Florida").

Ed and crew will share their years of experience washing and detailing cars at a High Level. 
The plan is to have three vehicles to show three different approaches to washing a vehicle
and have four different stations:
#1 interior cleaning, convertible top care,
#2 Tire/wheel cleaning. 
#3 Machine polishing paint
#4 Ceramic coatings

Products and equipment that will be showcased are Rupes polishers, AutoGeek detailing products, 303 products, and Dr Beasley products.
We are working on some product giveaways with the vendors.

At noon, AMCM will provide Domino's pizza, soda, and water. 

The class costs $100 per person and will be limited to the first 30 who sign up. Because all the proceeds are going directly to the Haven for Children Charity - please bring cash or check to the Haven for Children, the day of event.

We’re heading back to the Smokies!

On Saturday evening, May 18, we’ll gather in Northern Georgia. This is the starting point for this year’s Smokies Tour. Sunday morning, May 19, we’ll depart for our first day of tour driving enjoying back roads as we make our way to Franklin, North Carolina. After spending the night in Franklin, another day on scenic mountain roads will lead us to Hendersonville, North Carolina and Echo Mountain Inn, our ‘headquarters’ for the remainder of the tour. On Tuesday, another opportunity for us Florida flat-landers to drive mountain roads including a return to the Tail of the Dragon. Wednesday is your day to spend any way you choose — perhaps touring the Biltmore Estate, shopping in Ashville, enjoying any of the many other things the area has to offer, returning to some favorite roads, or, perhaps, relaxing at Echo Mountain. We’ll close out the tour Wednesday evening with a group dinner. The tour ends Thursday morning. You may be ready to head home or you may elect to take an optional side trip to visit the Spartanburg BMW plant on your way.

This tour is limited to 15 cars with a driver and navigator for each vehicle. Registration will close April 18. Hotel details necessary for you to make your reservations will be provided at that time. Registration cost of $65 per car includes a tour shirt for both the driver and navigator.

Come join us and show off your driving skills of a different variety.  SONPCA is hosting a May Social at Top Golf in Mobile, AL on the 21st from 6:30p – 8:30p.  You are guaranteed to have a blast regardless of your golfing skill set.  This will be a great outing for all ages…bring the entire family.

Food/Drinks: Top Golf offers a full bar and a wide variety of food.  You’ll be responsible for your own tab.

Clubs: If you’re a real driving pro, you can bring you own clubs.  However, balls and clubs are provided.

Tours: There are no planned tours as part of this event.

Parking: There is ample parking onsite if you want to travel in your favorite Porsche.

Just another FUN weekend at the track!!

We will start the weekend on Friday evening with onsite Registration, Tech and a Pizza Social!

Saturday and Sunday features a 4-run group format – one student group, one intermediate solo group and two advanced solo groups.

All students will be assigned a PCA instructor for in-car instruction.

First timers welcome!!! Non-Porsche owners welcome!!!

Students can register for Saturday and / or Sunday.

If 2 students are sharing the same car, one driver will need to register for one of the days and the other driver will need to register for the other day.

DE REGISTRATION:

All registrants must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license.

We use an e-waiver - this must be SIGNED and VERIFIED.

PCA membership is not required but membership does have some advantages. If your PCA membership number is in your ClubReg account, it can be automatically verified during the registration process. You do not have to be a member specifically of Suncoast PCA, all PCA members receive the same benefits at our DE events.

All drivers require a helmet rated SA2015 or SA2020. Moped helmets and motorcycle helmets are not allowed, and there are no loaner helmets available.

We run rain or shine so please prepare accordingly.

DE CONFIRMATION:

You will be confirmed when the required questions/registration information is complete, your appropriate payment is received, and your e-waiver is signed AND VERIFIED.

You are not officially in the event until you have received a confirmation email.

Car numbers and pit stalls are allocated on a "first registered and paid, first allocation" basis.

DE TECH INSPECTION:

All drivers must have a technical inspection performed on their car within 30 days of the event, at an approved shop. The "Tech Form" and the "Approved Shop List" can be downloaded from within your ClubReg account. They will also be attached to your confirmation email.

DE CANCELLATION and REFUND/CREDIT:

All cancellations must be done in your ClubReg account. An email, text or phone call to the DE Registrar, or another driver, or your instructor, is not an acceptable method of cancellation.

Cancellations up to 30 days prior to the event will receive a full refund (less any ClubRegistration processing fees) or be credited for use during 2024.

Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the event will receive a credit or refund (less any ClubRegistration processing fees) at the discretion of Suncoast PCA if we cannot fill your spot.

From 9 days prior to the event, NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS will be issued. No exceptions – including for cars not passing the technical inspection. Plan and schedule your tech inspection appointment accordingly to ensure any required repairs or pads/tires replacements can be made before the deadline of Wednesday June 5, 2024 at 5pm EST.

Charitable donations are NEVER refunded.

We do not offer refund, credit or partial credit for mechanical issues that prevent your car from going out on the track.

Thank you for volunteering to help out at the upcoming Driver's Ed event in Homestead on Saturday, June 22, 2024.  We appreciate your willingness to help and will keep you posted with scheduled times etc. 

We have the need in several areas: Registration, Tech inspection, Grid Marshall, Communications, as well as set-up and tear down. 

We will need approximately 5 persons for registration in the morning from 7:15 to 8:30 am.  We will need approximately 8-10 persons for tech inspection from 7:30 am until 9-9:30 am. There is also a need to assist in track set-up (placing road cones on track, etc.) for early Saturday morning.

Throughout the day we will need volunteers to fill and work the Grid (car staging for next run group to the track) and Event Observers.  Then, there is event teardown. (Picking up cones, minimal cleanup, etc.)

Your assistance with our first DE in 2024 will help set the standards for any/all future DE events that Gold Coast Region may hold in 2024 and beyond.

This event is open and we're ready to go for our Drivers Education at Homestead-Miami Speedway June 22nd, 2024.  This is a one day event and the cost for PCA Members is $395 and for Non-PCA Members is $445. Instructor entry is no charge.  You will be notified of your run group at a later time. There are covered garages available for $20 each as an option (instructors assigned garage no charge if available)

This is a full 8 hour event with all the run groups.  We will arrive at 7:00 am and run from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM

Join us on June 22, 2024, as we drive from Cocoa to the Central Florida Animal Reserve (CFLAR) in St. Cloud.  CFLAR is a big cat and wildlife sanctuary housing lions, tigers, leopards and cougars.  Our ride will depart from F Burton Smith Park 1045 am sharp (Driver's meeting at 10:30).  The roughly 45 mile outing will culminate with a 60 minute, guided walking tour of the Reserve and provide all participants an up-close encounter with the big cats!

Lunch is also included in the $50 per person registration fee, as well as a chance to win some fun prizes by playing a spirited game of Big Cat Bingo.  Please sign-up via Club Reg and then a link will be sent to you in the Club Reg confirmation email which will connect you directly to the CFLAR site.  Please note that all attendees at the event are required to complete the CFLAR Indemnification Agreement.  Your $50 registration fee will be used to support this worthy charity.

Upon arrival at CFLAR and due to the anticipated size of our group, we will split into two (2) separate groups of (20) members each.  While the first group goes on the tour, the second group will enjoy lunch and bingo.  Following their tour, the first group will then enjoy lunch and bingo while the second group takes the tour.  The event is rain or shine, so please bring an umbrella to protect yourself from the elements.

Age Restrictions

CFAR tours are best experienced from ages 10 and up.  Due to the potentially dangerous nature of the tours, children under 10 are not permitted.  Minors 10 to 17 years of age are welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult. Event specific exceptions may apply — contact events@cflar.org for questions.

GCR's Autocross #6 ON SATURDAY SEPT. 14th at Sebring Raceway will be set up on the skid pad just before crossing the bridge.  When you run you need to work, so don't plan on leaving early. There will be NO onsite registration and you must pay on club registration at the time you register. Registration is $30 for PCA members and $40 for non-PCA members before Sept 6th. Late Registration on/after Sept 6th is $50 - so please sign up early. The tentative schedule is as follows:
9:00 Check in/Tech/track walk (Novices arrive 8:45-9:00)
9:15 Novice instructor led course walk with safety briefing course rules
9:45 to 9:55 Driver meeting and work assignments
10:00 1st car out. 
12:20 Track tour line up (optional and if available) and Lunch
1:00 course goes hot again.

Join your fellow Suncoast PCA members in a food drive to benefit the Food Bank at First Baptist Church, 1900 Gandy Blvd N., St. Petersburg, FL, 33702 on Saturday, October 26. This year, we're combining with a car show! Prizes will be awarded for categories such as Sportiest Sports Car, and Classiest Classic. This is not a concours, any car can be entered in the show. It's all for fun! If you do want to enter your car in the show, plan to arrive at 8:00 am, the show and judging will be from 8:30 to 10:00 am. Awards will be presented immediately after, departure around 11:00 am. If you do not enter your car in the show, you can arrive anytime before 9:30 am (we want you to be able to participate in the car show judging!). We will have coffee, water and some breakfast goodies for you to enjoy.

Everyone should bring your donations of non-perishable food and/or grocery store gift cards. This is a chance to give back to our community and help others less fortunate.

The church has a large parking lot, very Porsche friendly with lots of room for the car show. Please respond with estimated number of attendees so we can have enough refreshments for all and answer the registration questions to let us know whether you will enter your car in the show.

**Read/Open Entire Description** PCA and BMWCCA Club Members (driving BMW) and Guests only are invited to register on 10/3-10/26. Do not register if you are not a member as you will be charged the credit card fee to cancel your payment. Event will be capped at no more than 40 drivers and up to 10 registered guest. Registration will close on 10/26 and cancellations must be submitted prior to that date for refund (less credit card processing fee). NO on-site registrations will be allowed.

Pre-payment (current/active PCA MEMBERSHIP # MUST be listed in your Clubreg Profile to qualify for the Member rate of $45), and the PCA Event Liability Waiver is required to be e-signed before you will be confirmed on the Roster. Your registration will remain as "Pending" until completed and you have received a confirmation email and see your name on the Roster.

ALL non-driver GUEST attendees must register and e-sign the liability waiver as a "Crew/Guest" on Clubregistration.net. No on-site registrations as this is a private event. Please assist your guest in setting up an account with Clubregistration.net. $5 is requested if your guest will join us for lunch.

PCA requires eSignatures for all events. Electronically sign the Event Liability Waiver prior to the event. 

Snell 2010 helmet or newer required. Limited loaner helmets available.

Please arrive at the gate between 7:45m and 8:15am. Tech inspection 8:00am – 8:30am. Guided course walk at 8:45am followed by drivers’ meeting at 9:15am. Group A ready to Grid by 9:45am. Lunch and cold drinks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own cooler. We always target 4 morning runs and 4 afternoon runs depending on weather and other factor. Please make plans to stay the entire day so we have enough workers for the final B run group. We usually wrap up around 3:30pm.

All Drivers must be 18 years of age with valid Driver's License.  Registered PCA "Juniors Program" members may drive at 16 years of age with valid Driver's License.  Parent/Guardian must attend and sign Minor Participation Waiver.
