| Description |
The Chicago Region Porsche Club presents RADE, a novice driver school with an emphasis on safety, in Elkhart Lake, WI at Road America—one of the premier racetracks in the country. This program, held over the Memorial Day weekend, was developed to teach novice drivers 18+ the skills necessary to drive your sports Porsche (no SUVs or E-cars) at its limits in a safe and controlled environment. All students will be provided an in-car instructor to show you the proper line around the track, teach how the principles of accel- and deceleration impact your vehicle, and help you learn car awareness on this 4-mile, 14-turn track. Novice drivers are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to attend the Novice Day DE at Blackhawk prior to coming to this event. This event will help you get up to speed on the big track at Road America. All drivers who have not driven Road America previously must attend the MANDATORY novice driver’s orientation meeting to be held online in advance of the event, featuring veteran Club Race drivers John Ruther and Greg Turek. More details to follow. Additional classroom sessions and in-car instruction will be provided throughout the weekend. Payment via club registration is required in full prior to event confirmation. Early Bird (pay by April 7) 3-day: $700 2-day: $600 1-day: $350 Standard (pay by May 12) 3-day: $750 2-day: $650 1-day: $375 Weather Watcher (until registration closes) 3-day: $800 2-day: $700 1-day: $400 All prices are -$50 for PCA-Chicago Region Members Discounts for 2 people sharing the same vehicle is at 75% of the offered rate. If you would like to sign up for Sunday only, please contact us. New this year we will be providing more options for Instructors to get on track on Friday, and there is an option for an Experienced driver to double the number of sessions they run on Friday. See the event options for details. Online waivers are required for all participants. Your entry will not be confirmed until the e-waiver is completed, and payment is made. Be sure to opt in for text communications to stay up to date with all event announcements. We recommend booking your hotel room as soon as possible as this is traditionally a very popular weekend in this resort town. Mention PCA Chicago if booking at the Osthoff Resort to receive the discounted block room rate. Note: if you would like to camp at the track, please contact us for details and fees. INSTRUCTORS: To accommodate in-car instruction for novice drivers, please sign up as an instructor, if you are comfortable. Instructors will receive e-vouchers/promo codes after the event that can be used toward other PCA Chicago events, in the amount of $100 per student per day. Instructors should check their registration final confirmation email to see if a student has been assigned. Note: While we are prioritizing Porsche vehicles at this event, PCA-Chicago members will be permitted to drive a comparable performance vehicle (no SUVs, no E-cars) from another brand. Cancellations must be via email to the event coordinator or registrar. Cancellation Fees are as follows: Prior to April 7 - No fee April 8 - May 12 - $50 fee May 12 - May 19 - $100 fee No refunds after May 19, 2024! Note that payment processing fees are non-refundable in all refund situations, and these fees will be added to the amount listed above (4. 5%)! No show/late cancel will not receive a refund of the event fees! Do not attend the event if you are sick. Contact the event team and we will issue you a refund in the case of illness. |
| Indemnity Policy |
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Porsche Club of America-Chicago Region, as well as its directors, officers, employees, agents, advisors, and assigns (collectively, the "Club") from any loss, liability, damage, fees, or cost, including bodily injury or property damage of any sort, that I may incur or cause arising out of or related to my presence at or participation in the Club's events, whether caused by the negligence or fault of the Club, or otherwise. I acknowledge that I remain solely responsible at all times for the safety and roadworthiness of my car, including its condition, preparation, and suitability for the Club's events, as well as my own physical and mental fitness to participate in Club events. By participating in the Club's events, I am assuming all responsibility for risk of damage to or caused by my car, and agree that if I or my car damages or destroys any event facilities or property, I will reimburse the Club for any such expenses incurred, including without limitation, all costs and fees incurred in connection with the clean up, repair, or removal of any damaged property, spilled fluids, discarded tires or other scrap, or fees for late exit from the event facilities. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Club and any supplementary rules or regulations provided in connection with the Club's events or by the event facilities owners or operators. |

Chicago Region Subsidy If you are a Chicago Region member, select this option for a -$50 reduction in your event fees. If you are a member of PCA-Chicago Region, please update your clubreg account with your PCA member ID. Friday Experienced Extra Sessions For an extra fee, an experienced driver can run in both the E1 and E2 run groups on Friday. This is a new option this year as we are moving to 4 run groups for Friday. Limited availability to maintain safe run group sizes. Note that Instructors need not apply for this option - extra track time is going to be included this year for those who instruct. |
