Metro NY PCA DE @ Summit Point (Main Track): Driver Education Event for PCA Members

We will be offering a "Taste of the Track" session on Saturday for anyone interested in the DE program. “Taste of the Track” is to introduce a driving enthusiast to the wonderful world of high performance driving PCA style. We understand that some drivers would like to learn more about the PCA Driver’s Education program, but are not quite ready to be a full-time DE Student. Participants will get (1) session on track during our regular DE Lunch Break as a passenger with a DE Instructor. With that in mind, this program has the following requirements: Must be at least eighteen years of age; Must attend the Region’s novice student activities, including the general driver’s meeting and Novice classroom session(s); Long Pants and Closed Toe Shoes must be worn on track; Helmets are not required. Participants MUST register for this.

Student Run Groups:
Green Run Group: Beginning Student
Yellow Run Group: Advanced Student

Solo Run Groups:
Blue Run Group: Beginning Solo Driver
White Run Group: Intermediate Solo Driver
Black Run Group: Advanced Solo Driver

Instructor Run Groups:
Black Run Group Instructor
Red Run Group Instructor

PLEASE contact us BEFORE registering if you are unsure of your Run Group.
If you have never driven with Metro NY and we are unable to verify your run group, you will start out with an instructor who will evaluate and place you in the proper run group.
**IF YOU HAVE NOT INSTRUCTED WITH US BEFORE, PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE REGISTERING AS AN INSTRUCTOR!**

All Student Drivers will start out on the waiting list until there are enough instructors registered.

Roster spots WILL NOT be held without payment.

Pre-Event Tech Inspections must be done by a PCA Region approved tech site within 2 weeks of the event. PLEASE USE THE METRO NY TECH FORM. (Tech shop does not need to be a Metro NY Shop. Tech shop can be from your home region, BUT they must be approved to do PCA DE Tech Inspections.)

Not all car number requests are able to be accommodated. If the number assigned to you is not the number you requested, it means someone already has that number. We have done our best to make the number change as easy as possible. Please make sure you have the correct number on your car when you go through trackside tech inspection.

It is mandatory for all Boxsters, Cabriolets, Roadsters and Speedsters to have roll bars that meet minimum height requirements.

Snell 2010 or newer helmets are required.
If your car has aftermarket 5 or 6 Point Harness, the webbing must not have an expired date on the manufacturer tag. Most webbing expires after 5 years from date of production.

NEW SAFETY RULE FOR 2019: If you are running a 5 or 6 point harness, you are now REQUIRED to use a head and neck restraint device that meets the standards of either SFI 38.1 or FIA 8858.

INSTRUCTORS: Instructor fees only apply for approved Metro Instructors and Nationally Certified Instructors. **IF YOU HAVE NOT INSTRUCTED WITH US BEFORE, PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE REGISTERING AS AN INSTRUCTOR!**

Payment must be received within 5 days of registration or 7 days prior to event; whichever comes first. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your registration. If you have not received notification one week prior to the event, please contact the event chair. Registration can not be completed if payment is not received.

Registration Closes on 10/27. NO REFUNDS AFTER 10/22.
