Description 5/8: IMPORTANT UPDATE: EVENT CANCELLED - Watkins Glen has just contacted us and let us know that the track will NOT be allowed to open in time for the event.

If you already registered and paid for this event, you will automatically be refunded. Refunds may take 9 to 14 business days to post back to your account.

As of right now, this event is still a go... with some changes for the health and safety of everyone involved.

** This is now a SOLO ONLY event. We will unfortunately not be putting Instructors in Student cars. ALL registrants MUST be solo verified drivers with a PCA region with a MINIMUM of 3 events at Watkins Glen driving solo. If we are unable to verify solo driver status with a PCA region, you unfortunately will not be able to attend this event. In the event that we need to cancel this event due to the ongoing health crisis, a full refund will be issued. **

REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE FRIDAY, May 22. There will be NO LATE REGISTRATIONS after 5/22. (The Holiday Weekend starts Saturday 5/23. Monday 5/25 is Memorial Day, and Tuesday 5/26 is a travel day for the event starting Wednesday 5/27. After 5/22, there is a very good chance we will not be able to return phone calls or Emails.) Metro NY PCA DE @ Watkins Glen: Driver Education Event for PCA Members. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to our 2020 Charity.

For this event, we will be running a separate Club Race Group for drivers who are registered for the Club Race following this DE. If you are registered for the Club Race, please select "Club Race Group" when registering.

PLEASE contact us BEFORE registering if you are unsure of your Run Group.

Roster spots WILL NOT be held without payment. Garages WILL NOT be held without payment.

**Pre-event tech inspection MUST be completed by a PCA Region approved tech site within 2 weeks of event. This can be performed in your home region as long as the shop is approved to do PCA tech inspections by your region.**

It is mandatory for all Boxsters, Cabriolets, Roadsters and Speedsters to have roll bars that meet minimum height requirements.

Snell 2010 or newer helmets are required.
If your car has aftermarket 5 or 6 Point Harness, the webbing must not have an expired date on the manufacturer tag. Most webbing expires after 5 years from date of production.
If you are running a 5 or 6 point harness, you are now REQUIRED to use a head and neck restraint device that meets the standards of either SFI 38.1 or FIA 8858. 

Payment must be received within 5 days of registration or 7 days prior to event; whichever comes first. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your registration. If you have not received notification one week prior to the event, please contact the event chair. Registration can not be completed if payment is not received. GARAGES WILL NOT BE HELD WITHOUT PAYMENT.

Registration Closes on 5/22. NO REFUNDS AFTER 5/18.

Driver is responsible for any/all track damage caused by them.

Only registered drivers are permitted on the track. No passengers except for instructors/coaches. A driver is permitted on the track only during his/her assigned run group.

Metro NY PCA sponsors this event as a drivers’ education event. It is not a race or a race school. IT IS NOT A TEST/TUNE DAY. We encourage all participants to enjoy the experience and bring a mature, cooperative and not overly aggressive attitude to the event. Participants engaging in inappropriate actions are subject to having their registration canceled, at the discretion of Metro NY PCA.

Refund Policy METRO NY REGION DE EVENT CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY

Metro NY incurs significant costs in having a High Speed Driving Event.  These costs include the track rental, corner workers, etc.  These are generally non-refundable costs to Metro NY. 

Metro NY has the following cancellation policy relating to DE participants (effective as of January 1, 2011):


1.  IF you cancel 10 days prior (or more) to the DE event date, you will be issued a refund. 

2.  IF you cancel within 10 days of the DE event date or do not show up for the DE event, all funds will be forfeited by you. 

3.  IF you have a mechanical failure or any other issue/incident that results in the non-completion or lack of participation in an event. . .  there are unfortunately no refunds or credits given; unless this happens 10 days (or more) prior to the event date and proper notice of cancellation is given. 

In the unusual situation where the DE is canceled by Metro, all participants will receive either a return of your payment or credit toward a future Metro NY DE event, as determined by Metro NY PCA. 

IF any credit towards a future Metro NY DE is issued, said credit will expire at the end of the following season. 
Indemnity Policy I certify that I have no known physical or mental problems or conditions which prevent me from safely operating a motor vehicle or which may jeopardize others or myself if I participate in Club Race and/or Driver Education events. 
I agree that at all times during this Club Race and/or Driver Education event that I shall remain solely responsible for the safety and road-worthiness of my car and that I am solely responsible for any damages sustained by my car while participating in the event, regardless of cause or fault.  If my car damages any track facilities, not limited to but including guardrails and fluid clean-ups, I will pay for such damages directly to the track or reimburse Metro NY PCA for those expenses as necessary. 
Email addresses used on ClubRegistration.  net will not be shared, sold or distributed. 
Porsche Club of America is a private, not-for-profit organization.  It reserves the right to deny the acceptance of any Club Race or Driver Education application, or to revoke any application previously accepted, for any reason or no reason, except that it will not deny or revoke a Club Race or Driver Education application solely on the basis of race, creed, color, sex or national origin.
