Description PCA Chicago will be hosting a Drivers' Education event at Road America over Labor Day Weekend, Friday, September 3 thru Monday, September 6, 2021

For 2021, there will be two DE run groups daily (except Monday), each with limited capacity. A sell out is expected. DE registration packages are for all four days of the weekend and holiday. Please read this full event description for important details.

Only experienced drivers will be permitted to register, no novices or instruction provided. Registrants should have previous experience at Road America, or extensive experience at other tracks. The DE is open to Porsche sports cars only (no Macans, Cayennes or other marques). Priority will be given to PCA Chicago members until July 30th, if payment has been made to secure the spot. If you are outside the region, please feel free to register and pay event fees prior to this date to be given priority for confirmation.

The preliminary schedule has five DE sessions Friday, three Saturday, three Sunday for each of the two run groups and two (combined) on Monday. As you are able, between sessions, please volunteer to help with Club Race gridding in the staging area. We could use all the help we can get!

Standard belts and seats are permitted. If you drive with a harness system which secures both shoulders you must wear a HANS device, per PCA’s “Head and Neck Restraint Systems” requirement, effective 2019.

Club Race registrants may NOT register for the weekend DE sessions (Friday - Monday). Instead they may register for the optional Friday Racer Only Lapping Sessions (under PCA DE Rules). A separate registration is required. Information and register here TRAC Racer Only Lapping Sessions

NOTE: All parking on paved surfaces in the Main Pit-Road paddock, Upper RV paddock, and North Paddocks are reserved. Please contact Stanley Sangdahl at with your parking requests. The 36-15’x30’ Lester Garage stalls near turn 14 in the North Paddock and the 13-16’x40’ Hagerty Garage stalls near turn 1 in Main Pit-Road Paddock are rented directly through Road America. Please contact Bridget Beck from Road America at and then inform Stanley you have rented a stall so he can reserve a space nearby for your rig (15’x80’ space in front of stall for Hagerty garage).

This year, post-COVID craziness, we will be returning to our traditional Saturday night escorted old road course Porsche Parade, car show and buffet dinner party at Siebkins in downtown Elkhart Lake. One dinner ticket is included for each DE driver. Additional dinner tickets can be purchased for family and friends on when registering for the event. Note that racecars participating in the parade MUST have working headlights!

Please consider giving some time to volunteer gridding cars for the sprint and enduro races, monitoring enduro pit stops, assisting with registration, and/or providing tech support weighing cars at scales. Even if you are not driving in the DE, please register as a volunteer and fill out the electronic waiver. This will ease the on-site registration process. This event would not be possible without the support of enthusiast volunteers!

NOTE: The Road America guards will NOT waiver or band drivers, crew, or guests. Everyone wishing admittance to the track must come to the Road America Registration Building during open HOURS OF REGISTRATION. See the registration hours attached to your confirmation and pass them along as needed. Should you or your guests have minor children (under 18), please color print one minor waiver and track touring form for each minor and bring them completed as it will expedite the time needed to complete registration.

Fees increase at these dates regardless of when you register. All unpaid registrations will automatically be cancelled on August 28.

Refund Policy All refund requests must be received in writing (email) by the DE Registrar prior to the event.  Refunds after August 23 at the sole discretion of the event coordinators and may be partial refunds only.  $50 processing fee applies to cancellations Aug 9 - Aug 22. 
Indemnity Policy I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Porsche Club of America-Chicago Region, as well as its directors, officers, employees, agents, advisors, and assigns (collectively, the "Club") from any loss, liability, damage, fees, or cost, including bodily injury or property damage of any sort, that I may incur or cause arising out of or related to my presence at or participation in the Club's events, whether caused by the negligence or fault of the Club, or otherwise.  I acknowledge that I remain solely responsible at all times for the safety and roadworthiness of my car, including its condition, preparation, and suitability for the Club's events, as well as my own physical and mental fitness to participate in Club events.  By participating in the Club's events, I am assuming all responsibility for risk of damage to or caused by my car, and agree that if I or my car damages or destroys any event facilities or property, I will reimburse the Club for any such expenses incurred, including without limitation, all costs and fees incurred in connection with the clean up, repair, or removal of any damaged property, spilled fluids, discarded tires or other scrap, or fees for late exit from the event facilities.
