(Test Drive members not eligible for this event) ***PCA MEMBERS: BE SURE MEMBERSHIP NUMBER IS CORRECTLY ENTERED IN YOUR CLUB REGISTRATION PROFILE in MY ACCOUNT EDIT MY MEMBERSHIPS*** September 29-30, 2023 METRO NY PCA NJMP LIGHTNING Lightning Strikes Twice. Metro NY PCA limits the number of registrants with the aim of providing an intimate, high-value, social DE experience in which Students get at least 100 minutes and Solo drivers get 160-200 minutes on track daily. Track incidents, weather, and other circumstances beyond MNY PCA's control may reduce track time, but we strive for the times above. Some proceeds from this event will go to PCA Metro NY's 2023 Charity: L.I. Against Domestic Violence. NOTE: Snell 2015 or newer helmets will be required for this event. Green Group: Beginning Student Yellow Group: Advanced Student Solo Groups: Blue Group: Beginning Solo Driver White Group: Intermediate Solo Driver Black Group: Advanced Solo Driver Instructor Groups: Black Group Instructor (Regional PCA Instructor) Red Group Instructor (National PCA Instructor) PLEASE contact us BEFORE registering if you are unsure of your Run Group. **IF YOU HAVE NOT INSTRUCTED WITH US BEFORE, PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE REGISTERING AS AN INSTRUCTOR!** All STUDENT DRIVERS will start out on the waiting list until there are enough instructors registered. Students are confirmed on a first come, first serve basis .PLEASE CHECK THE EVENT ROSTER TO SEE YOUR STATUS. INSTRUCTOR fees only apply for approved Metro NY PCA Instructors and PCA Nationally Trained Instructors. **IF YOU HAVE NOT INSTRUCTED WITH US BEFORE, PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE REGISTERING AS AN INSTRUCTOR!** Payment must be received within 5 days of registration to hold your spot (or 7 days prior to event; whichever comes first). You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your registration. If you have not received notification one week prior to the event, please contact the event chair or registrar (metronypcade@gmail.com). Registration cannot be completed if payment is not received. Registration Closes on 9/23. NO REFUNDS AFTER 9/19. Driver is responsible for any/all track damage they may cause. Only registered drivers are permitted on the track. Registered drivers MUST be 18 years of age and over, and have a valid driver's license. No passengers except for approved and registered event instructors. A driver is permitted on the track only during his/her assigned run group. Roster spots WILL NOT be held without payment. SAFETY… Pre-event tech inspection must be completed by a PCA Region approved tech site within 30 days of event using the current Metro NY PCA Tech Form. It is mandatory for all Boxsters, Cabriolets, Roadsters and Speedsters to have roll bars that meet minimum height requirements. **NJMP requires open cars to have deployed roll-over protection** Open cars must be equipped with a roll bar meeting the following specifications: (i) the roll bar must be of sufficient height to ensure that the top of the driver’s helmet sits below the line from the top of the roll bar to the top of the windshield (commonly referred to as the “broomstick test”) and; (ii) the roll bar must be fixed and visible at all times when the vehicle is on the track. Snell 2015 or newer helmets are required. PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to use an OPEN-FACE helmet at NJMP, you may only use it in a factory stock vehicle equipped with air bags. If your vehicle is NOT factory stock or does not have air bags, you MUST use a closed full face helmet. Please be aware of this. This is a law mandated by the NJ State Police in which the track must abide by. If your car has aftermarket 5 or 6 Point Harnesses, the webbing must not have an expired date on the manufacturer tag. Most webbing expires after 5 years from date of production. If you are running a 5 or 6 point harness, you are now REQUIRED to use a head and neck restraint device that meets the standards of either SFI 38.1 or FIA 8858. Metro NY PCA sponsors this event as a driver’s education. It is not a race or a race school. We encourage all participants to enjoy the experience and bring a mature, cooperative, and not overly aggressive attitude to the event. Participants engaging in inappropriate actions are subject to having their registration canceled, at the sole discretion of Metro NY PCA. |

METRO NY REGION DE EVENT CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY Metro NY incurs significant costs in having a High Speed Driving Event. These costs include the track rental, corner workers, etc. These are generally non-refundable costs to Metro NY. Metro NY has the following cancellation policy relating to DE participants (effective as of January 1, 2011): 1. IF you cancel 10 days prior (or more) to the DE event date, you will be issued a refund. 2. IF you cancel within 10 days of the DE event date or do not show up for the DE event, all funds will be forfeited by you. 3. IF you have a mechanical failure or any other issue/incident that results in the non-completion or lack of participation in an event. . . there are unfortunately no refunds or credits given; unless this happens 10 days (or more) prior to the event date and proper notice of cancellation is given. In the unusual situation where the DE is canceled by Metro, all participants will receive either a return of your payment or credit toward a future Metro NY DE event, as determined by Metro NY PCA. IF any credit towards a future Metro NY DE is issued, said credit will expire at the end of the following season. |
| Indemnity Policy |
I certify that I have no known physical or mental problems or conditions which prevent me from safely operating a motor vehicle or which may jeopardize others or myself if I participate in Club Race and/or Driver Education events. I agree that at all times during this Club Race and/or Driver Education event that I shall remain solely responsible for the safety and road-worthiness of my car and that I am solely responsible for any damages sustained by my car while participating in the event, regardless of cause or fault. If my car damages any track facilities, not limited to but including guardrails and fluid clean-ups, I will pay for such damages directly to the track or reimburse Metro NY PCA for those expenses as necessary. Email addresses used on ClubRegistration. net will not be shared, sold or distributed. Porsche Club of America is a private, not-for-profit organization. It reserves the right to deny the acceptance of any Club Race or Driver Education application, or to revoke any application previously accepted, for any reason or no reason, except that it will not deny or revoke a Club Race or Driver Education application solely on the basis of race, creed, color, sex or national origin. |
