PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - CHANGES MADE FOR 2024 **Driver EDUCATION; Registration open to all drivers.** Macans welcome in Green run group. All marques welcome on track. See note below on hybrid and electric vehicles. ***PCA MEMBERS: BE SURE MEMBERSHIP NUMBER IS CORRECTLY ENTERED IN YOUR CLUB REGISTRATION PROFILE in MY ACCOUNT EDIT MY MEMBERSHIPS*** June 12-13, 2023 Metro NY PCA WATKINS GLEN Bash Before the Clash! Metro NY PCA limits the number of registrants with the aim of providing an intimate, high-value, social DE experience in which Students get at least 100 minutes and Solo drivers get 160-200 minutes on track daily. These figures are likely to be somewhat reduced at this event because of the presence of the Club Race run group, in which Club Racers must run. Track incidents, weather, and other circumstances beyond MNY PCA's control may reduce track time, but we generally strive for the times above. Some proceeds from this event will go to PCA Metro NY's 2024 Charity: Malcolm Pray Achievement Center, helping young people drive towards success YOU HAVE NOT REGISTERED UNTIL YOU HAVE PAID IN FULL, SIGNED AND VERIFIED THE ONLINE WAIVER, AND RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION E-MAIL. PLEASE register early. A late registration fee of $50.00 will be applied to payments made within 14 days of the DE. RUN GROUPS & REGISTRATION… Student Groups: (All Student Drivers start out on the wait list until enough instructors register.) Green Group: Beginning Student Yellow Group: Advanced Student Solo Groups: Blue Group: Beginning Solo Driver White Group: Intermediate Solo Driver Black Group: Advanced Solo Driver Club Race Group: Drivers participating in the PCA Club Races and/or Pro-level racers currently participating in pro racing such as IMSA sanctioned races. Racers WILL be placed in this group. Instructor Groups: Black Group Instructor Red Group Instructor PLEASE contact us BEFORE registering if you are unsure of your Run Group. If you have not been fully promoted to a solo run group by a PCA Region or other RECOGNIZED track organization please contact the registrar before paying. Full refunds will only be issued to those who register correctly, no matter the circumstances of cancellation. **IF YOU HAVE NOT INSTRUCTED WITH US BEFORE, PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE REGISTERING AS AN INSTRUCTOR!** There is a limit on Instructor registrations at the instructor rate. Once the limit is reached, instructors will be placed on a Wait List, or they may register as Black Solo drivers. If they are then asked to instruct, the fee difference will be refunded (less the CC charge). All Student Drivers will start out on the waiting list until there are enough instructors registered. Students are confirmed on a first come, first serve basis. PLEASE CHECK THE EVENT ROSTER TO SEE YOUR STATUS. Roster spots WILL NOT be held without payment. A limited number of garage spaces are available at Watkins Glen. They will fill up quickly. Garage space is assigned and guaranteed ONLY after payment is received, on a first come, first served basis. Garage spaces will be assigned ONLY to registered drivers. Non-driving support staff or other attendees will not have a garage assigned to them. Teams may not rent garages except as part of a driver registration. Garages are assigned on a first come, first serve basis based on time of payment by the registered driver. Parking spaces outdoors in front of garages (the respective garage parking spaces) are strictly reserved for the use of the occupants of the respective garages. Assignment of garages and garage parking spaces will be enforced. Garages and garage parking spaces are rented to the respective assigned occupants from 6PM the evening before the first day of the DE until 6PM on the evening of the last day of the DE, and must be vacated by the latter time. All drivers must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license. Only registered drivers and non-driving instructors will be allowed on track. When more than one person is in a car on track, at least one must be a registered instructor at the event. SAFETY… Pre-event tech inspection must be completed by a PCA Region approved tech site within 30 days of event using the current Metro NY PCA Tech Form. It is mandatory for all Boxsters, Cabriolets, Roadsters and Speedsters to have roll bars that meet minimum height requirements. Open cars must be equipped with a roll bar meeting the following specifications: (i) the roll bar must be of sufficient height to ensure that the top of the driver’s helmet sits below the line from the top of the roll bar to the top of the windshield (commonly referred to as the “broomstick test”) and; (ii) the roll bar must be fixed and visible at all times when the vehicle is on the track. Snell 2015 or newer helmets are required. If your car has aftermarket 5 or 6 Point Harnesses, the webbing must not have an expired date on the manufacturer tag. Most webbing expires after 5 years from date of production. If you are running a 5 or 6 point harness, you are now REQUIRED to use a head and neck restraint device that meets the standards of either SFI 38.1 or FIA 8858. INSTRUCTORS: Instructor fees only apply for approved PCA Metro NY Instructors and PCA Nationally Trained Instructors. **IF YOU HAVE NOT INSTRUCTED WITH US BEFORE, PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE REGISTERING AS AN INSTRUCTOR!** Club Racers and Pro Racers WILL be placed in the Club Race Group (Aqua) and pay the Club Race Group fee. For more information contact the registrar, but please do not register for or expect to be in any other Solo DE group if you are a Club Racer or a Pro Racer. Payment must be received within 5 days of registration to hold your spot (or 7 days prior to event; whichever comes first). You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your registration. If you have not received notification one week prior to the event, please contact the event chair or registrar (metronypcade@gmail.com). Registration cannot be completed if payment is not received. Registration Closes on 6/06. NO REFUNDS AFTER 5/29. Driver is responsible for any/all track damage they may cause. Only registered drivers are permitted on the track. No passengers except for approved and registered event instructors. A driver is permitted on the track only during his/her assigned run group. PLEASE DO NOT register with a hybrid or electric vehicle until you have contacted the Registrar and been approved to participate with that vehicle. Significant safety concerns with electric vehicles mean some tracks and track organizations have banned them outright. We cannot provide full refunds to those who register with electric vehicles without first gaining approval from the registrar. Metro NY PCA sponsors this event as a driver’s education. It is not a race or a race school. We encourage all participants to enjoy the experience and bring a mature, cooperative, and not overly aggressive attitude to the event. Participants engaging in inappropriate actions are subject to having their registration canceled, at the sole discretion of Metro NY PCA. |

METRO NY REGION DE EVENT CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY 1. All refunds are subject to a processing fee of 5% unless due to Club cancellation of event. 2. Refunds will be issued for cancellations made fifteen (15) or more days prior to the DE event date. Credits may be issued in lieu, with registrant’s agreement. 3. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made fourteen (14) or fewer days prior to the DE event date. 4. Please cancel through Club Registration and with a follow up e-mail to metronypcade@gmail. com to ensure cancellation is timely. IF any credit towards a future Metro NY DE is issued, said credit will expire NO LATER THAN the end of the following season. |

I certify that I am 18 years of age or older, possess a valid driving license, and have no known physical or mental problems or conditions which prevent me from safely operating a motor vehicle or which may jeopardize others or myself if I participate in Club Race and/or Driver Education events. I agree that at all times during this Club Race and/or Driver Education event that I shall remain solely responsible for the safety and road-worthiness of my car and that I am solely responsible for any damages sustained by my car while participating in the event, regardless of cause or fault. If my car damages any track facilities, not limited to but including guardrails and fluid clean-ups, I will pay for such damages directly to the track or reimburse Metro NY PCA for those expenses as necessary. Email addresses used on ClubRegistration. net will not be shared, sold or distributed. Porsche Club of America is a private, not-for-profit organization. It reserves the right to deny the acceptance of any Club Race or Driver Education application, or to revoke any application previously accepted, for any reason or no reason, except that it will not deny or revoke a Club Race or Driver Education application solely on the basis of race, creed, color, sex or national origin. |
