Want to explore the Space Force Station at Cape Canaveral and see where America launched some of our early rockets? The cost is $25 per person and It is going to be a fantastic time. We will be exploring the history of the Lighthouse on the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station as well as visiting the famous Launch Complex 26. Most people have never had the opportunity to visit these locations because they are off limits unless you work on the base. Please note we are limited to 25 vehicles so bring your 4 door cars so we can accommodate as many people as possible for this exciting event. Agenda is as follows: 9:30 a.m. Check-in at Sands History Center parking lot. We will caravan out together so if you are not at Sands by the time we are scheduled to leave, you will miss the tour. 10:00 a.m. Depart for the Lighthouse 11:30 a.m. Depart from the Lighthouse and caravan to the Launch Complex 26 12:15 pm. Depart from Launch Complex 26 to exit Space Force Station What to Expect the Day of the Tour • Meet at the Sands History Center parking lot. Your names will be checked off the list. • You will be given information about the tour and a paper placard, which must be displayed in your windshield. • Drive around and get in line behind the last car. • You may not leave the caravan at any point during the tour. • Once we leave Sands, we will caravan to the lighthouse. • Follow the car in front of you as you will line up in parallel lines behind Hangar C. • Refrain from taking photos on the drive out to Lighthouse (may take photos during tour). • When we are ready to leave, we will caravan back the same way. • We will leave the lighthouse, the caravan will continue as it came into LC-26 • Follow the car in front of you and line up around the perimeter of the area outside the venues. • You will spend approximately 30 minutes here. • When you leave you will continue in the caravan around the rocket garden and then head back to the main gate • The tour will caravan through the gates, where you can continue home, or visit the Sands History Museum, (which you will want to see) where there are docents to guide you. IMPORTANT Because the lighthouse is located on a secure military installation, we will need information on each adult as listed below for security. We will not be inviting children on this tour since the is the first time. Based on the interest we will set up another date in 2025. If a person in your party has a Space Force DBIDS access card, we only need their name and the ID number on the DBIDS card. No other military ID is valid on the Space Force Station. We have to send all the information about the attendee's to the Space Force by November 1, 2024. Please be prepared to provide the following information: Name as on the driver’s license Date of Birth Phone Number Driver’s license number State the license was issued in Email Address From each car that will be driven in the caravan: Car Tag Number and State Color of the car Make of the car Model of the car Year of the car |
