Description Driver Education Spring event at CMP.  This will be a full format event on Saturday and Sunday with 2 instructed groups and 3 solo groups.  The Red Instructor solo group will be running with the Extended Passing rules.

NEW for this event is DEMAND BASED PRICING.  All drivers who sign up will pay the maximum rate ($550 for PCA members, $650 for non-members, $225 for instructors.) 2 weeks prior to the event, if we have more drivers than our break-even point, we will issue refunds to everyone.  We are a break-even, not for profit program and run the events accordingly.  The more friends you bring to participate, the less everyone pays!

We welcome and accept all makes of cars at Carolinas Region DE's.  Entries are not confirmed for the event until paid.  PCA members receive confirmation priority for the first two weeks of registration after which non-members will be confirmed.

Information about the event and the acceptance packet will be posted on ClubRegistration.net.  Please refer to the "FILES" tab when you login to My Events to find links to the documents.

You must have an approved helmet. SAH2015, SAH2020, SA2015, & SA2020 are accepted.  SA2005 & SA(H)2010 helmets are no longer accepted and M certification helmets are not accepted.  Note that 2015 helmets are good through March 1, 2026 so plan ahead accordingly.

We encourage you to update your profile and history in Clubregistration.net to ensure you are assigned to the proper run group.

Vehicle tech inspections must be performed by an approved shop using the Carolinas Region Tech Inspection Form. The list of approved shops is included in the "FILES".  Failure to use an approved shop will result in your not being allowed to drive in this event. Upon arrival at the track, please bring your tech inspection form and valid driver’s license to registration.

Cabriolet/Convertible Cars: Porsche OEM roll over protection in Boxsters and 996, 997, and 991 911’s is acceptable.  All other convertible cars need to meet the minimum standards for PCA DE events which are: a roll bar or roll cage must be installed, which meets the "broomstick" rule (the driver's helmeted head is below a bar placed on top of the roll bar and windshield). Design, installation and materials of roll bars or cages and their installation must meet PCA Club Racing specifications, contained in Appendix A-Roll Cage Specifications of the PCA Club Racing Rules.  All targa tops must be installed unless there is addition roll over protection. All sunroofs must be in the closed position.  We recommend the soft-top be in the up position or the hard top installed. If the top is in the down position, then an SFI and/or FIA approved arm restraint system must be used.

Driver and Passenger seats must have equal restraints and both driver and passenger must wear an approved HANS device in cars using multi-point harnesses.

Four-point systems are not allowed in Porsches because of the integrated headrest supplied by the factory, EXCEPT as noted below. In addition to the standard SFI and/or FIA-approved five- and/or six-point system, a four-point system is allowed in non-Porsches that meet the following requirements:
• Meets the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 209.
• Attaches to the factory seat belt mounting points.
• Each belt is designed to work in a specific vehicle and that vehicle tag must be attached to the belt system.

Four Point Belt Exception: Schroth has developed a four-point harness for specific vehicles. These vehicles must be fitted with the original factory seats with which the cars and belts were tested. The belts must also be installed per the Schroth instructions. The belts are Federal Motor Vehicle Standard 209, and as such they are deemed street legal and approved by federal seat belt safety regulations. These belts also have labeling confirming the intended use for these specified vehicle models. They are ONLY allowed in the vehicle with which they were tested.  [Current information from Schroth may be found here: https://www.schrothracing.com/item/schrothquickfit/].
Refund Policy Cancellations/Refunds - while no one ever wants to cancel, we know that sometimes things come up that are unavoidable.  Entry fees for all participants are refundable only if requested in writing or email to the Registrar.  >>>>>All cancellations received 2 weeks or more prior to the event will be refunded the full entry fee less a $50 administrative fee.  There are NO refunds within 2 weeks of the event. <<<<<
