Description 10/16/2017 UPDATE:
At this time several our green, blue and white run groups are sold out.  Paid participants signing up for those groups will be wait listed and as cancellations occur will be moved and confirmed for the event.  Should no openings become available all wait listed participants will be notified and receive a full refund. No admin charges will be deducted. 

We would like to thank our title sponsors for their support of this event: PORSCHE OF GREENSBORO and PORSCHE OF HICKORY.  On Saturday evening, joins us at the track for the evening reception for finger foods and your favorite beverages.

Driver Education event at VIR utilizing the 3.27 mi. Full course circuit for all three days.  This will be a full format event on Saturday and Sunday with 2 instructed groups and 3 solo groups. 

Approved solo drivers and Instructors may add Friday November 17th as an optional third day.  Instructors, Red, and Black solo drivers with or without VIR experience are approved.  Recently promoted White solo drivers without any previous VIR experience may need a recommendation from your CDI to be approved.  (Blue and Green Students are not eligible for the Friday solo day.  NOTE: Friday is selected as an event option and is only available in addition to the Sat/Sun registration. 

We welcome and accept all makes of cars at Carolinas Region DE's.  Entries are not confirmed for the event until paid.  PCA members receive confirmation priority for the first two weeks of registration after which non-members will be confirmed.

Information about the event and the acceptance packet will be posted on ClubRegistration.net.  Please refer to the "FILES" tab when you login to My Events to find links to the documents. 

You must have an approved helmet. SA2010, SAH2010, or SAH2015 are accepted.  SA2005 helmets are no longer accepted and M certification helmets are not accepted.
We encourage you to update your profile and history in Clubregistration.net to ensure you are assigned to the proper run group.

Vehicle tech inspections must be performed by an approved shop using the Carolinas Region Tech Inspection Form. The list of approved shops is included in the "FILES".  Failure to use an approved shop will result in your not being allowed to drive in this event.  Upon arrival at the track, please bring your tech inspection form and valid driver’s license to registration.

Out-of-region drivers may have their tech inspection performed by their local Porsche dealer using the Carolina Region tech form or submit information regarding their preferred local shop for possible inclusion on the approved list.

At this time it is not known how “Automatic Emergency Braking Systems” will react at speed in the HPDE environment. For the safety of all participants PCA has decided not to allow affected vehicles to run with our group at HPDE events unless the system can be and is turned off.  We have no doubt that this equipment is very helpful in street driving; however, we cannot risk endangering drivers, instructors and their vehicles at our on-track driving schools.

* VIR has local restrictions for convertibles, please review the important information below if you drive a convertible. 

FOR BOXSTERS: 2005 to present Boxsters may run at VIR with the OEM Integral roll hoops.  Pre-2005 Boxsters must have additional roll over protection such as the Brey-Krause Extension.  For specific Boxster questions please email driversed@carolinas-pca.com

For ALL OTHER Cabriolets, Convertibles, or otherwise Soft Top vehicles: The integral roll hoops or bar in CONVERTIBLES is NOT ACCEPTABLE AT VIR.
ALL CONVERTIBLE including ALL 996/997/991 CABRIOLETS must conform to items 1-4 following:
1. Vehicle must be equipped with a Full roll bar that meets PCA Club Race or SCCA Race requirements to be allowed to drive at VIR.  NO EXCEPTIONS. 
2. The top of the main hoop must be at least two inches above the occupants’ helmet(s). With the driver and/or passenger correctly seated and securely belted in the vehicle, occupants helmet must be at least two inches below a straight line drawn between the top of the windshield and the top of the roll bar. 
3. Roll bar must be padded in any area that may come in contact with the occupants’ helmet or person. 
4. For any vehicle running WITHOUT an OEM top in place, ALL occupants MUST also have 5 or 6-way harnesses, arm restraints and full face helmet with shield in lace.

VIR has on-premise lodging which often fills quickly so call for reservations early.  Other nearby options are the Best Western (1-800-937-8376) and the Sleep Inn 434-793-6090).

Refund Policy Cancellations/Refunds

While no one ever wants to cancel, we know that sometimes things come up that are unavoidable.  Entry fees for all participants are refundable only if requested in writing or email to the Registrar.  There is an administrative fee charged on all cancellations. 

PLEASE READ THE COMPLETE POLICY CAREFULLY FOR EACH SPECIFIC EVENT!

FOR DRIVERS EDUCATION, AUTOCROSS AND TOURS

There is a $25 administrative fee on ALL refunds.  All cancellations received 3 weeks or more prior to the event will receive a refund less the $25 cancellation fee.  Cancellations received within 3 weeks of the event will NOT be refunded.  Refunds will be issued 7-10 days AFTER the event. 


FOR ALL EVENTS, INCLUDING SOMMERFEST, DE's and AUTOCROSS

Participants who are still pending or waitlisted at the time of the event will receive a full refund and do not incur a cancellation fee. 

Participants who register within 3 weeks of the event date are NOT eligible for a refund. 

Carolinas Region does NOT issue credits for future events.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
Indemnity Policy In compliance with PCA requirements, all participants are required to sign the document entitled Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement at event check-in.  This is the same form signed prior to participating in tours or many technical sessions at PCA events.
